Drunk Munchies

When I was drinking it never failed that at the end of the night I would get, what my husband and I call, “The Drunk Munchies.”
I would drink for a few hours or maybe even all day taking in at least a thousand calories from alcohol then proceed to pig out in the kitchen on another 500 -1000 calories in cookies, chips, chips and mayonnaise, chips and potato salad, or we ordered pizza and would gorge on that, even eating 3 or 4 slices.
My God, it’s no wonder I was 262.4 lbs. and heading to 300 lbs. at an alarming rate of speed.
When I’d get these munchies, I would have no control on what or how much I ate. Alcohol took all my control from me, my inhibitions.
After eating all that food do you think I’d exercise after?
Hell No! I’d go straight to bed and all that alcohol and beer went straight to my ass.
I was very fortunate, once I stopped drinking and stopped with all those extra calories, I lost 25 lbs. fairly quickly (in about 7–9 months).
I kept 20 of those 25 pounds off for the last 14 months, with fairly minimal effort.
I still have some weight I’d love to lose, and I will, I know I can, I just need to get in the right mindset and focus on that goal, trust in the process and put forth the effort required of me to lose that weight and add some necessary changes to my life.
It’s so strange how after I made changes in my life, I wanted to continue and build upon that growth.
Even though I changed 2 huge things in my life, stopping smoking and drinking alcohol, I know there’s still room for improvement and growth.
I’m extremely content with the changes in my life but with my back and knee pain as well as just being overall healthy I know I need to improve upon my life in the diet and exercise arena.
I need to put all my focus on that until it’s routine.
I started my new life changes (again) yesterday.
So, bye-bye drunk munchies! Hello healthy living.
