Simon Chapple – Sobriety Coach, Author & Speaker

Sober Influencers - Simon Chapple - Be Sober

Yes, that’s me! I feel so privileged to find myself in a place where people find inspiration and real-world support from my own journey with alcohol. Not only does it make me feel humble, but it also keeps me accountable and helps me stay well on track with my own sobriety.

I certainly didn’t ever set out to become a sober ‘influencer’, but my mission to spread the word about sobriety has resulted in appearances on national TV, radio interviews and coverage in the national newspapers. You can read more about it here.

I have also spoken at live events, including This Naked Mind Live and the Club Soda Mindful Drinking Festival. My Be Sober Facebook group currently has over 15,000 members.

Since I quit alcohol I have found my passion in writing, in 2019 I released my first book – The Sober Survival Guide. You can get the first 10 chapters free on the home page of this website. My new book – How to Quit Alcohol in 50 Days was released in December 2020, you can get a copy here.

I also run a YouTube quit drinking channel ans publish two new videos every week, I share tactics to help people quit drinking on their own, as well as writing blog posts and sharing stories from the people I connect with on my own journey. In 2020 my channel had almost quarter of a million views!

All of this just from putting down the wine bottle!

'Your windshield is bigger than your rearview for a reason; the mirror is there to help you glance back at where you’ve been, but if you focus too much on it, you’re going to crash.

We are ALL affected by our past and we are ALL reminded of it now and again, but we cannot live in it unless we want to repeat it over and over again. We need to learn from it, take lessons from it, know what’s good (and not good) for us, and adjust accordingly. Mistakes are only mistakes until we learn from them and then they become lessons.'

Love this from the Your Tango blog, it sums up the need for a forward focused growth mindset in sobriety and life in general.
